Dear SIMMTECH Family.
Today, I would like to share my thoughts on the new ERP that we will be launching, and also on our organization’s restructuring.
As many of you already know, ERP stands for Enterprise Resource Planning.
This is an integrated system for managing all sources (4M: Man, machine, material, and method) across the company. With all our data combined as one, we will be able to make quick decisions based on real time information, which in turn will provide us with important foundation for strengthening our competitive advantage.
Today, I would like to consider the three aspects of ERP.
First, why do we need this?
Second, what are benefits to us and to the customers?
Finally, what do we need to overcome to implement ERP?
First of all, why do we need this?
Our management has continuously proposed a new ERP for the past couple of years, but I have been hesitant even though I knew it was necessary, mainly due to the subsequent major changes and the investment cost.
But currently we are building a factory in Xi'an, and because of this, ERP is not an option, but became a must to survive. We are now a global company, and this is irreversible reality.
'Global' means different nationalities' going forward with the same goal under one umbrella named 'SIMMTECH'. It means going further than just having numerous foreign manufacturing sites.
An ERP system can integrate and manage them as one.
Next, we will be able to efficiently manage factories that are in different locations, and human resources through ERP to realize what our customers requested as “COPY EXACTLY”. Also, it can improve our OTD (On Time Delivery) accuracy by providing WIP reporting (Work in Process) in real time, which will shorten delivery time like what our customers requested recently.
There are so many other advantages, but I believe that you are already familiar with them through ERP training.
Lastly, I like to say that the ERP can only be properly implemented if we overcome the following two issues.
First, the attitude of TFT (Task Force Team) who is implementing ERP is important.
People can easily lose their tolerance when they do the right thing. Since they have justification for doing something right, there is a possibility to judge others more strictly by their own justification.
In order to make the ERP operate, we need a consensus understanding and agreement of all our employees, not just TFT. All TFT members should keep this in their mind, and approach the colleagues more humbly for the future of the company.
And I would like to explain this to the majority of you.
"Why does a PCB Manufacturer company need this?"
I know some people say, "I've done great so far, but my position has disappeared due to the organizational changes. I am depressed," and remain as a spectator. There also are others who are unsure about the direction we are heading.
But that is not right.
We are a specialized and special semiconductor PCB manufacturer.
Additionally, the new organization, aiming at a Global Standard, will be empowered enough to produce more top talents and excelling managers.
We are steadily climbing up to the top of the mountain now.
Please, do not worry about if we are climbing the right mountain or if we can really go over this mountain.
In my experience, I feel confident that you and I can cross this mountain with our combined strength.
Only then can we step in the right direction to become a "Better Company".
For those who have believed in my until today,
I have already set off along the road to climb over this mountain.
After reading this letter, throw away all of your concerns, and hold my hands tightly as we cross the peak of this mountain.
